Steel guitarist Howard White talks about working as a road musician during the 1950s and early 1960s. Discussion includes a family history; his early musical interests and influences, including Jerry Byrd; his start in music; working at WNOX Knoxville; working with Lowell Blanchard; artists and bands he worked for, including Cowboy Copas, Ferlin Husky, Hawkshaw Hawkins, and Hank Snow; performing in Canada on a Wilf Carter tour; touring Europe; and the decision to move into music publishing.
